Fairway Lawns proudly hosts offices in ten different cities in the southern part of the United States. 

From those locations, our employees service countless more locations surrounding those ten cities, creating beautiful, healthy lawns like those found on the most reputable golf courses. We didn’t grow that quickly overnight though. In fact, our story starts back in 1979…

1970s

Was it really that long ago? Fairway Lawns was born in 1979 in our home-base city, Little Rock, Arkansas, but our way “Fairway Lawns” name wasn’t yet established. In fact, the company began as a ChemLawn franchise with only three people on staff– our owner, Bob Rice, his wife, Jan, and one additional partner.

1980s

In one short year, Bob and Jan grew to become sole owners of the ChemLawn franchise, and by 1985, their first ChemLawn branch was opened in Fort Smith, followed closely by their second branch opening in Springdale, Arkansas, in 1990.

1990s

In 1993 the ChemLawn franchise was purchased, and Bob and Jan made the decision that, instead of renewing the franchise agreement, they would venture into the great unknown– entrepreneurship. Surprisingly, many things stayed the same. The duo kept our same beloved employees, customers, equipment and buildings. Two big changes were made though– our new name was established as Fairway Lawns, and the company’s desire to succeed was bigger than ever! With renewed enthusiasm, a strong sense of pride in the new business and a commitment to superior service, a plan was born, mapping out the growth of Fairway Lawns.

True to plans, just one year into the new venture, a branch in Northwest Arkansas was established. In 1995, we proudly added termite and pest control services, Command Pest Control, to the Little Rock location. Two years later, we branched out to Memphis, Tennessee, and added a few nearby Mississippi cities to our servicing list with that expansion.

2000s

By 2003, our Birmingham, Alabama, branch was established, and the metaphorical ball of opening new locations was rolling faster than ever. Springdale, Arkansas, gained Command Pest Control services by 2005, and in 2007, Fairway Lawns made its introduction into Oklahoma with a new branch in Tulsa. Two years later, Alabama’s second location opened in Huntsville, closely mirrored by a branch in Augusta, Georgia, in 2013. By January 2016, two more locations– one in Greenville, South Carolina, and one in Vilonia, Arkansas, were established.

Now, as we’re nearing the end of 2017, we look back at our years of growth with awe. There’s no secret to our success.
